FAQ

What machine do you use?

We have an APQS Millie with QuiltPath. This is a top-of-the-line longarm machine that allows for free motion and computerized quilting. We have a wide range of designs and can discuss new designs if ours don’t meet your vision for the perfect finish to your project.

What type of thread do you use?

All quilts are quilted with Hab+Dash Glide 40 wt trilobal polyester thread. We have a wide selection of color options to choose from. Hab+Dash variegated thread is available by request.

What batting options do you have?

We offer Quilters Dream batting in midweight cotton, 80/20 cotton/polyester blend, and wool, as well as lightweight cotton. King sizes are available in midweight cotton. Any Quilters Dream offerings may be acquired with a longer wait time, and you may submit your own batting.

What type of quilting do you offer?

We currently offer computerized all over edge-to-edge quilting and semi-custom computerized designs. Additional offerings will be available in the future.

Can I mail you my quilt?

Yes! We have a secure P.O. box, so you can rest assured that your quilt will arrive safely. We accept quilts from all over, and shipping is paid by the customer. Shipping isn’t typically a large expense.

Can I drop off my quilt?

Yes! Locals in the Twin Cities and surrounding areas are encouraged to hand off their quilts in person. We will select a mutually convenient location during our initial conversations. I will bring along any thread or stitching samples requested so we can discuss your quilting and make the best selections for your project.

How do I prepare my quilt for longarming?

Please see our guide for quilt prep here. A well-prepared quilt top and backing are key to an excellent finished quilt.
